Amera Loses $5M In Foreclosures

Coral Springs-based Amera Corp. lost $5.2 million in foreclosure judgments over properties in Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale.

Miami-based City National Bank of Florida won the judgments in four separate cases against affiliates of Amera, along with company principals George Rahael and Charles Ladd.

An April 27 online auction was set for the following three properties:

  • The 29,221-square-foot financial center at 3200 University Drive in Coral Springs, which belongs to Amera University 3200. It lost a $1.8 million judgment.
  • The 26,489-square-foot retail/office center at 3501 N. University Drive in Coral Springs, which is owned by Amera Village Green. It lost a $1.4 million judgment.
  • The 15,559 square feet of space in the Interchange Industrial Park at 350 and 410 N.W. 27th Ave. in Coral Springs, which is owned by Riverbend West. It lost a $956,288 judgment.

In addition, City National Bank won a $1 million foreclosure judgment against Las Olas Properties, another Amera affiliate, over 56,427 square feet of office space at 300 N.W. Third Ave. in Fort Lauderdale, plus three vacant lots at 411 N.E. Third Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. The online auction for those properties is set for May 5.

Amera has faced more than a dozen foreclosure lawsuits in Broward County.
